Looking for a new adventure after their previous experience running a Chinook salmon hatchery on the Upper Fraser for Fisheries and Oceans, James and Lyn bought the Bell Mountain Motel in June of 2012. They plan to renovate each and every room starting this fall.
After 12 years of running the hatchery where they made their own power (cooking and heating solely with wood) and getting water through a hand pump on the kitchen counter, they now enjoy the modern conveniences in McBride!
As if that was not enough, seven years ago they bought an old Catholic Church in nearby Dome Creek, and moved it recently to a new property where they are converting it into their retirement home.
James has 40 years’ experience in welding and fabricating so you will often find him busy working around the motel.
An avid outdoors man, James loves fly fishing and hunting. So if you are looking for directions for those activities he has all of the information you need.
Lyn in her past was a trained chef. She also travelled extensively in Canada and the USA to dog shows and would love to tell you about their dogs.
She loves photography, baking and home decorating (and making endless honey do lists for James).
